At Carers for Kids NSW, we care for those who care for children. Our goal is to see all children receive the care they deserve, and all carers receive the support and training they need.

Carers for Kids NSW provides specialised support, individual and systemic advocacy, resources, training and events for authorised foster and kinship carers, guardians and adoptive parents, caring for children and young people from NSW out-of-home care. Recognising that every caring role is unique, our experienced Carer Support team offers practical guidance and a listening ear to help carers feel confident and supported.

The program is operated by Adopt Change and funded by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice to deliver services to ensure carers are equipped in their role. We can provide guidance on specific challenges carers may face, including supporting the children in their care, navigating casework processes, maintaining cultural connection, managing family contact and responding to allegations or reportable conduct.

We also facilitate Carer Advisory Groups (CAGs), supporting carers’ voices to be heard and represented at a policy level, and contributing to system improvements across the out-of-home care sector to improve the lives of children, young people and their carers.Â
