At Carers for Kids NSW, we care for those who care for children. Our goal is to see all children receive the care they deserve, and all carers receive the support and training they need.

Most children in care have come from challenging family situations. Many of these children are dealing with the effects of neglect, abuse, parental drug and alcohol misuse and domestic violence. To thrive, they need consistent and quality care, and itโ€™s our hope that we can help carers feel supported and equipped to provide that care.

Carers for Kids NSW supports children and young people by supporting and strengthening foster and kinship carers, with the goal of improving experiences and outcomes for families. We are funded by the NSW Government and operated by Adopt Change.ย

We are a key source of information and support for people considering becoming carers or guardians, providing clear guidance about fostering, permanent care and adoption. Working in partnership with the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), and alongside accredited foster care and adoption agencies across NSW, we help prospective carers understand their options and next steps.

Carers for Kids NSW delivers training across the state, including remote and regional areas, both in person and online. We host a range of training sessions, events and workshops throughout the year, and our Carer Support Team is available to provide advice, information and support via phone or email.

We are dedicated to supporting children and carers, listening to feedback from carers and partners to continually improve the way we work and the support we provide.

Weโ€™re committed to diversity and inclusion, offering appropriate support for culturally and linguistically diverse carers and promoting culturally appropriate pathways.

Through our engagement with government and the child welfare sector, we advocate for positive change on behalf of carers and the children they care for.

It is our hope that, together, we can help build a stronger, more supported caring community across NSW.
