What a way to kick off Foster and Kinship Care Week in NSW!

On Sunday 30 August, more than 1,000 foster and kinship carers, children, young people and families came together at Whitlam Leisure Centre in Liverpool for our annual Foster and Kinship Care Week Picnic.

With a colourful circus theme, families dressed up, enjoyed a wide range of entertainment and activities, shared a meal and connected with other carers and families.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day such a memorable celebration. We hope you enjoyed plenty of fun, laughter, connection and special moments with your family.

Most importantly, the picnic was an opportunity to celebrate foster and kinship carers and recognise the extraordinary care, commitment and support they provide to children and young people every day.

Thank you to our sponsors and supporters

We’re incredibly grateful to the organisations who donated their time, products, experiences and support to help make the 2026 Foster and Kinship Care Week Picnic possible.

A special thank you to:

We would also like to thank Capital City Waste Services for supporting the event with waste management and recycling services.

Thank you to every sponsor, supporter, volunteer and staff member who helped bring the day together, as well as all the foster and kinship carers, children, young people and their families who celebrated with us. Â
