Terms and Conditions of Attendance – 2025 Sydney Foster and Kinship Care Week Picnic
By attending this event, you agree to the following terms and conditions. These are in place to ensure a safe, respectful, and enjoyable environment for all participants and are aligned with applicable laws in New South Wales. By attending this event, you agree to these terms and conditions.
General conduct
- This event held on 31 August 2025 is organised by Adopt Change Ltd (Adopt Change) – operators of the Carers for Kids NSW program (formerly My Forever Family NSW) and is an inclusive event for member carers and their families to enjoy. The safety of all attending the event is paramount.
- All attendees must act respectfully towards event staff, volunteers and other attendees.
- Offensive language, harassment, violence, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated. Organisers reserve the right to ask any person to leave for breaching these conditions.
Supervision of children
4. The location of this event is at a large open, public park area and supervision is not provided by the Adopt Change/Carers for Kids NSW staff.
5. All children under 18 years must be accompanied and actively supervised by a parent, guardian, carer or responsible adult at all times.
6. Carers, parents and guardians are solely responsible for the behaviour, safety and wellbeing of their children during the event.
Child safe policy (NSW)
7. Adopt Change is committed to providing a child-safe environment in line with the NSW Child Safe Standards.
8. All staff are required to comply with our Child Safe Code of Conduct, undergo Working With Children Checks (WWCC) where required and uphold a culture of child safety and inclusion.
9. Any concerns about child safety at the event should be reported immediately to an event official.
Health and safety
10. Attendees must follow all event signage and instructions from staff, including in the case of an emergency.
11. The event is conducted in accordance with NSW Work Health and Safety laws.
12. First aid assistance will be available on site.
Liability and assumption of risk
13. All staff and representatives are expected to behave respectfully towards families, staff and volunteers.
14. No promotional material or merchandise may be distributed that is offensive, misleading or not previously approved.
Photography and media
15. This is a public event. Photographs and videos may be taken and used for promotional or reporting purposes by Adopt Change however, we do not publish any material that depicts a child’s face in a clearly identifiable manner, in accordance with legal and privacy requirements.
16. Attendees are requested not to photograph or film other children during the event. This is to protect the privacy and safety of all children in attendance and to comply with legal and privacy obligations.
Alcohol, smoking and substances
- This is a strictly smoke-free and alcohol-free event.
- The possession or use of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited and may be reported to NSW Police if necessary.
Entry and removal rights
19. Adopt Change reserves the right to refuse entry to the event to any person who:
a. Does not comply with these terms and conditions; or
b. Has previously created risk for the organisation or other members of the Adopt Change/Carers for Kids NSW program.
- Measures will be taken to ensure anyone who causes a disturbance, either actual or implied, or refuses to comply with reasonable requests made by Adopt Change, will be denied entry and/or evicted from the event.
- Adopt Change reserves the right to modify or cancel the event in case of unforeseen circumstances or safety concerns and does not accept liability for any losses suffered by any person not being able to attend the event.
